In Memoriam: Sheldon Adelson, Financial Supporter of Christian Zionism

Sheldon Adelson, a highly influential supporter of Zionist causes, passed away in January of this year. Adelson amassed a fortune from his empire of gambling casinos, and provided millions of dollars to Jewish Zionist and Christian Zionist organizations in the United States. Among the organizations receiving financial backing from Adelson was the largest Christian Zionist organization in the United States, namely Christians United For Israel (CUFI). Adelson, who was Jewish, adopted a tolerant attitude toward the anti-Semitic views of CUFI’s founder and leader, Rev. John Hagee.
